Prerequisites
For the bioinformatics session, basic familiarity with Linux environment is required.Attendees must complete and understand sections 1, 2, 5, 10, 11, 12, and 13 of the linked Linux Tutorial.
To attend the bioinformatics seesion, you will also need to bring your own laptop computer, which was purchased in the last 3-4 years with minimum 8GB of RAM and running recent versions of Windows, Mac, or Linux. The following software should be installed on the laptap before the workshop:

Notes: we have decided not to use VisBin in our workshop anymore because the "Download App" button in the VizBin website is not working anymore
Workshop Registration
- Two-day wetlab session, August 19 - 20, 2019 (10 seats): CAD $750 + GST
- Five-day bioinformatics data analysis session, August 21 - 23, 2019 and August 26 - 27, 2019 (30 seats): CAD $850 + GST
- Currently, the GST in Alberta is 5%
Registration Fee include: coffee breaks and snacks, lunches, and also a networking reception dinner on August 21 and 23, 2019.
Please note: space is not guaranteed unless payment is received.
Please note there are only:
- 10 seats available for the wetlab session (SOLD OUT)
- 30 seats available for the bioinformatics data analysis session (SOLD OUT)
Cancellation Policy
All the cancellation must be submitted in writting to the workshop organizers.
- Cancellation made more than 60 days before the event will be refunded 80% of the registration fees.
- Cancellation made less than 60 but more than 30 days before the event will be refunded 50% of the registration fees.
- Registrations cancelled less than 30 days before the event or do not show up, no refund will be issued.
